New Video and New Song

Check out Mike and Greg performing an acoustic version of our new song "Countdown Summer".

New Video and New Song
Check out Mike and Greg performing an acoustic version of our new song "Countdown Summer".

Countdown Summer
"Countdown Summer" is song about that feeling you get when you realize the summer is almost over and you know that you only have a short time left to enjoy the hot sun, endless fun, and summer romances. "This countdown summer has finally come true... bringing me, one less day with you".

***UPDATE****
Due to numerous requests within hours of posting this video, the lyrics for this song are below.

Our feet hang from the dock
As we try not to talk
Cause we know the summer is fleeing

Just one more song I swear
To help us prepare
Cause we know the summer is fleeting

We gave our hearts away
As we made the best of ourselves
And we gave ourselves away and...

Now I'm waiting for September come
Cause I'm hating how we're coming undone
This Countdown Summer has finally come true
Bringing me, one less day with you

Our words they race the night
Fighting the morning light
I can't stand where this is leading

So when you catch your flight
Wave goodbye and say "Have a good life"
Just don't tell me again why we're leaving

Now I'm waiting for September come
Cause I'm hating how we're coming undone
This Countdown Summer has finally come true
Bringing me, one less day with you

I swear that I won't forget
The shape of your silhouette
I swear that I won't forget
The summer that we first met

Now I'm waiting for September come
Cause I'm hating how we're coming undone
This Countdown Summer has finally come true
Bringing me, one less day with you

RADIO FOR HELP & Stereos in Edmonton!

Wednesday, June 3 2009 -mike

 RFH AND STEREOS

So we are super stoked! In case you haven't been watching Much Music and haven't been listening to the radio, you may not have heard about Stereos! Our buddies Pat, Dan, Miles and Rob (Formerly of Stand By Me, Turn It Up) had an opportunity to be on the show disBAND on Much Music. The basic premise of the show is they take unsigned bands, get them to work with Greg Nori (Treble Charger) and then they perform in front of some of Canada's top music industry people. Well long story short, all the hard work that these boys put in over several year busting their asses in the local Edmonton music scene paid off, because they blew the panel away! So much so that they got signed! So check out their new single Summer Girl. It's tearing up the iTunes charts right now at #1!

So we're extremely proud of the boys, but what's also exciting is that they're coming back to Edmonton for a home town show! And they've asked us to play with them! So come on out, We’re ready to show off a few songs from our upcoming album “You Don’t Wanna Miss This” (Coming in August)

Opening for Anberlin!

Monday, January 26 2009 -mike

So yesterday was one of those crazy day that really make you step back and think to yourself "WOW!". Yesterday, in the early afternoon, we got a call asking us if we would like to open for Anberlin! It’s interesting because it’s been a goal of ours for about two years to share the stage with them. They’re on of those bands that we all seem to like and when we’re on the road and someone puts on one of their songs, we all seem to bob our heads along to it. Despite being in the studio and not having rehearsed as a band since our last show in December, we immediately agreed to do it…well almost immediately.
Well you see I, Mike, happened to be in Calgary when we got the call and I had accidentally left my phone on silent. So for a few hours the boys panicked because they couldn’t get in touch with me. Long story short, they finally did just after 2:00. So I would like to thank RCMP along Highway 2 for kindly ignoring my speed as a made my way to Edmonton.

It was a quick load in and got a chance to talk to the boys from Anberlin and Between the Trees. They were all so nice. Then it was a quick sound check, set up the merch and then the throngs of people started to come in. We played a solid set and we’re met with a great response from the crowd, except for the sombre threesome, whom I talked to before we took the stage, who were disappointed that Medina Lake had not been able to play because of some issues between Regina and Edmonton.

Now aside from all the wicked new fans we met, including two really nice girls from Slave Lake, who had made the long drive, the highlight of the night was when Anberlin took the stage. They were incredible! We were all shocked to hear the very kind shout out and thanks they gave us for jumping on the bill. The crowd responded kindly to that as well. Anberlin are a class act. The really cool thing was, Anberlin told us that they actually hand picked us to play the show. They went to our myspace page and checked us out. Good lesson for other bands out there on the importance of your myspace page.

Thanks to everyone who came and said hi, picked up a CD, bought a shirt or had us sign something.

So that was our awesome surprise yesterday. Oh…one more thing, we were able to grab a picture with the boys from Anberlin after the show. Check it out below.

Top 10 of 2008

Wednesday, December 31 2008 -mike

Well it's at this time of year. Everyone is putting out a "Top _____ of 2008" list and RADIOFORHELP should be no exception. This has been the most memorable and successful year of our career. Greg, Matt, Mike and Steve would like to thank you all for making this a great year. Here are our top 10 memories/ experiences of 2008!

10. Christian's House in Moose Jaw, SK
Our venue for a show in Moose Jaw got shut down just weeks before we were scheduled to perform. So the singer (Christian) from one of the bands (i Am Waves) we were playing with hosted the show at his house. We've never performed at a house party before but it's was one of the most fun shows we've ever played!

9. Falling off stage at Turn it Up's CD release show
In April our good friends Turn It Up (formerly Stand By Me) asked us to join the line-up for their CD release show. During our performance part of the stage came apart and Mike fell onto some unlucky fans. Luckily no one was hurt and naturally we didn't miss a note. Check out our friends Turn It Up at their myspace page.

8. Opening for Suzie McNeil in Edmonton, AB
I was kind of cool to play with a sexy chick rocker...plus she wrote the song for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Mike even got a chance to crawl onto the bearskin rug that was on her stage and perform sultry poses for the crowd.

7. Having former RADIOFORHELP guitarist Chris Webb's final tour
Many of you remember our original member Chris Webb, who had to leave the band to pursue his academic and athletic dreams (he actually ended up winning a college national championship!) . Well Syndey was one of his favourite bands of all time and as luck would have it he had just finished school around the time of our tour dates with Sydney, so he joined us one final time for a few shows.

6. Tour dates with Sydney and Dead and Divine
This was one of the most fun tours we've had. Over the course of the tour we developed a slight rivalry with Sydney, which escalated a pie in the face prank. We were fortunate enough to catch it all on film. Check out the Youtube video.

5. Meeting Tom Delong of Angels & Airwaves
As we were setting up for Warped Tour in Calgary, AB, we saw Tom Delong of Angels & Airwaves walking through the grounds with his adorable son. He was kind enough to entertain us with a brief conversation, so we won't make any detailed public comments about this punk rock legends' live performance.

4. Boonstock in Gibbons, AB
Boonstock was one of the coolest Festivals we have ever played. We were fortunate to share the stage with Gob, Sloan, illScarlet and Alexisonfire and so many more. Thanks to Red Bull for keeping us energized that weekend and thanks to everyone who came out to watch us, who sang along while we performed, and partied with us all through the night

3. Opening for Tokyo Police Club
As part of NAIT's back to school show, we had the opportunity to share the stage with one of Canada's hottest acts.

2. Hanging back stage with Alexisonfire
Alexisonfire was the headliner on the second night of Boonstock. We along with a number of other bands, including the boys from Ten Second Epic watched Alexisonfire set from the side stage and watched as the throng of fans bounced, swayed and flailed in the night. After their performance, many of the members stuck around to chat with us for a bit. It was a great moment, however there was one better this year…

... and the top moment of 2008 was....

1. Our first regular rotation on commercial radio!
A huge thanks has to go out to Sonic 102.9 FM - Edmonton's Modern Rock for being the first station in Canada to get behind us and our first single "Is this turning you on?". I strongly encourage you to take a look at their website . Their website is one of the best radio webiste around.

What an incredible year it's been! We promise 2009 will be even better!
